Biography

Dr. Wang is currently an Associate Professor (2024-present) and former Lecturer (2019-2024) in the Department of Intelligent Science and Technology. He received his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees from Waseda University, Japan in 2019 and 2014 respectively, with the support of the China Scholarship Council (CSC). He has worked at Microsoft Research Asia, Toshiba Global R&D Center, and NTT Communication Science Laboratories. In the past five years, he has published over 30 papers in international conferences and journals such as EMNLP, COLING, and CogSci (including more than 25 papers in SCI/SSCI/A&HCI indexed journals or CCF recommended conferences). In 2021, he was selected for the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission’s “Sail Plan Project” (completed), and in 2023, he received support from the National Natural Science Foundation of China Youth Project (AI Interdisciplinary). He has led 5 industry collaboration projects and participated in multiple major and general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, as well as key R&D and social governance projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology. He regularly serves as a PC Member and reviewer for top international conferences in AI/NLP such as ICLR, ICML, NeurIPS, ACL, EMNLP, AAAI, and journals including TKDD, TNNLS, and NLE. His research interests include artificial intelligence, human-machine cognitive collaboration, and natural language processing (including medical documents).

Our lab primarily consists of students with NLP backgrounds, and we welcome students with interdisciplinary backgrounds in linguistics, cognitive science, and psychology to join our lab. International students are also welcome to apply.
